The coach takes us to Warminster bus station where we can purchase an all day ticket for £10 (as far as I can ascertain) which will take us via vintage buses (some of which are Routemasters) to Imber to see this abandoned village, taken over by the military in WW2 for training purposes. The bus will then continue across Salisbury Plain through many little villages on the return journey to Warminster. We can visit St Giles church in Imber for light refreshments on our way.
Those who prefer can be dropped off in Salisbury where there is the cathedral, Arundells (previous home of Edward Heath and now a museum) and Mompesson House, a National Trust property in the heart of the city, to explore.
We will all meet back in Salisbury for free time until our departure at approx 1630.
