Alton is surrounded by wonderful countryside which we explore on walks of around 6 miles, up to half an hour’s drive away, and based on a pub where some of us lunch afterwards.

Please dress appropriately and always carry a drink!

9.45 am  Meet (Promptly Please) at Bramdean Common, north end parking.

Advisable route to avoid Four Marks roadworks debacle: Leave Alton on A32 through
Farringdon. Turn right at West Meon Hut crossroads s’post A272 Bramdean
Winchester. After about 2½ miles pass The Fox Inn on the left then turn right by
garage into Wood Lane, s’post Ropley Alresford. After about 1¼ miles Bramdean
Common opens out on right then left. Park at the top of the Common on the left.
10.00 am Set off on a 6.2 mile walk, heading south then around through Woodland Gate and climbing to the high point of West Tisted. Returning back through the woods of
Bramdean Common with perhaps a very short detour to see the Gypsy (sorry
Travellers!) church in the Wood. One longish steady climb.

All walkers will need to carry a hand sanitizer and a facemask in case of need.
We are no longer restricting the numbers of walkers but will possibly re-visit the
covid situation as we head into winter conditions.

1.00 pm Approx time of return to our starting point.
