The U3A offers opportunities to “Learn, Laugh and Live” for the retired and semi-retired among us.

55 DIFFERENT GROUPS & ACTIVITIES!

Our new 2023/24 Annual Programme booklet is available from the Allen Gallery, the Curtis Museum, the Alton Community Centre and Alton Library. Postal applications are invited NOW – and are recommended as some groups have a limited capacity – alternatively please come to our Registration Day from 2pm – 3.30pm at Alton Community Centre on Saturday 12th August 2023. (And new membership applications are welcome throughout the year.) If you need more details please contact the group leader listed in the programme booklet.

Subscriptions shall be paid upon joining.

Gold subscription entitles you to enrol on any or ALL of the activities listed below.

Silver subscription entitles you to enrol on any one or more of the activities in the Silver, Bronze and Red categories listed below.

Bronze subscription entitles you to enrol on any one or more of the activities in the Bronze and Red categories listed below.

Red subscription entitles you to enrol on any one or more of the activities in the Red category listed below.

Gold: Bridge Club, French Improvers, U3A Choir, Recorders, Scottish Dancing, Yoga

Silver: Bridge on Thursday (beginners and improvers), Creative Writing (Thursdays), Current Affairs, Guitar for fun, Italian for Holidays, Literature – the Novel, Painting for fun, Play Reading, Scottish Dancing Workshop, Ukulele for fun (beginners and improvers).

Bronze: Archaeology, Art Appreciation, Beowulf, Board Games, Chess, Computing, Creative Writing (Wednesdays), DSLR Photography, Embroidery, Family History, Finance & Economics, Fun Maths, Gardening For All, History for beginners, History of Photography, Listening to Jazz, Local History Projects, Poetry Appreciation, Popular Science, Puzzles & Mind Games.

Red: Bird Watching, Luncheon Club, Play the Piano for Pleasure, Rambling, Social Cycling, Wednesday Walks.

 

Members who lead a Group shall pay a subscription according to the activities they undertake but ignoring the Group they lead.

A few groups charge an additional fee, which should be clear from the group page, to cover additional costs such as a qualified person without whom the group could not run.
